Eyelash Extension FAQ's

What are eyelash extensions and how are they applied?
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent false eyelashes that are glued to your individual lashes. There are a few different styles in a range of lengths and fullness to choose from.
When you’ve chosen your desired style of lashes, they are individually applied using a semi-permanent glue that won’t irritate your eyes or damage your natural lashes.

How long do eyelash extensions last?
Because eyelash extensions are attached to your natural lashes, they last for one full growth cycle of your natural lashes, which is typically six to eight weeks. However, it’s important to remember that our lashes fall out at different times throughout that cycle so to keep your lashes looking full and natural you should have regular refill appointments every 2-3 weeks. There are certain things you can do to help your lashes last longer - like avoiding touching them, avoiding mascara and heavy eye makeup, and trying to sleep without pressing your face into the pillow.

Do eyelash extensions ruin my natural lashes?
No. Eyelash extension glue is formulated not to damage your lashes or irritate your skin. The only way eyelash extensions can be cause for damage to your natural lashes is if you rub, pull, or play with your eyelash extensions frequently. Essentially, if you wouldn’t do it to your natural lashes, you shouldn’t do it to your extensions.

How long does it take to apply the lashes?
Your first full set eyelash extensions take between two hours and two hours and a half, which are then maintained with touch-up appointments called “refills”, which will replace the eyelash extensions that have fallen out or damaged. Eyelash extension refill appointments usually take up to one hour and a half.

Tanning

Why should I use a tanning lotion in a tanning bed?
Exposure to UV-light, whether indoors in a tanning bed or outside in the sun, is a stress factor for the skin and can have a drying effect. To maintain a healthy-looking skin and develop a beautiful tan, it is important to use a lotion that provides essential moisturization, plus nutrients and anti-oxidants that help counteract the environmental stress caused by UV-light. Lotions also help to smooth the surface layers of the skin to allow greater UV penetration for improved tanning results. Specially formulated indoor tanning lotions also provide advanced tanning technologies to aid the skin in developing a faster, darker tan.

Do I have to clean my own bed?
No. We are a full service salon; our trained professionals use hospital grade sanitizer/ disinfectant to ensure a clean bed every time you tan.

Does the bed stop automatically?
Yes. The timers for the bed are controlled by the computer. The beds will stop at the correct time agreed upon by you and the professional.

Can I do double sessions?
No. The law strictly forbids doing more than one session per day.

Can I tan while taking medications?
If you are taking photosensitizing medications, it is not recommended that you tan indoors or outdoors. If you are unsure, ask your doctor, or ask one of our tanning consultants to see a list of these medications, which can greatly increase the risk of overexposure.

Can I use outdoor tanning lotion on the beds?
No. Any mineral oil-based product will discolor acrylic surface and are not designed for easy clean up and sanitizing.

Do I have to wear eye protection while tanning?
Yes! Eyewear protection is required by law. Your eyelids aren’t thick enough to provide protection and do not effectively block light while tanning. Approved eye protection is required to ensure you won’t have any ill effects such as reduced color vision or night blindness. Lash & Bronze provides each customer with a pair to use when tanning. Eye protection is also available at our front counter for purchase if you prefer to have your own pair.

What should I wear?
You can tan in your bathing suit, underwear, or if you prefer, semi-nude or nude. Being in a private room while tanning – unlike at the beach or pool, you can wear whatever you like. Please be aware of exposing sensitive body parts that are not normally exposed to light. It is highly recommended that sensitive body parts be gradually exposed to prevent overexposure. It is also recommended to cover up a previously unexposed part of the body for part of your tanning time, so it can catch up safely with the rest of your tan. The only required attire is eye protection because your eyelids, even when they are closed, aren’t enough protection and light can cause temporary and permanent damage to them.

Spray Tanning

How long should I wait after my spray tan before I shower?
It is best to wait at least 4-6 hours after the spray tan application before you shower to give the DHA time to fully react with skin proteins. The waiting time varies on skin type. The dryer your skin is the longer you should wait to shower after your spray tan at Lash & Bronze.

Why is keeping skin moisturized essential to maintain great spray tan results?
It is important to keep skin moisturized after your spray tan as dry, flaky skin will slough off faster and color will fade sooner. Spray tan-extending products with a light self-tanning bronzer helps hydrate skin and maintain even, natural looking color longer by providing subtle bronzers.

Should I moisturize before I spray tan?
No. You should use a moisturizer regularly to keep your skin hydrated and healthy, which will contribute to a more even, natural looking sunless tan. However, it is recommended NOT to apply moisturizers 2 hours prior to self-tanning and 4 to 6 hours after.

How do I prepare for my spray tanning session?
Please arrive showered, shaven, free of make-up, perfume, oil, body sprays, deodorant and moisturizer for optimal results. Bring loose, dark fitting clothing for after your session. Your spray tanning session will last less than sixty seconds plus dry time for the application and a total of 5 to 10 minutes with prep and post preparation.

Do I need to wear sunscreen even if I have a spray tan?
Although you may feel and look like you a real tan, a sunless tan is only the temporary appearance of a tan, it is cosmetic and therefore provides your skin with no real sunburn protection. It is still necessary to wear a sunscreen when outdoors to protect your skin from burning.

How do I apply Barrier Cream correctly?
Barrier Cream is applied as a protective barrier to prevent unwanted color on the porous areas such as hands, feet, nails and cuticles. Prior to spray tanning, dispense a generous amount of Barrier Cream onto your hands and apply an even coating to the palms of the hands, in-between the fingers, tips of fingers, covering nails and around the cuticles. Also apply a generous layer of Barrier Cream to the bottom of feet, in-between the toes, covering toenails and cuticles.

Will the solution from the airbrush spray tanning come off on my clothes?
Some of the bronze “cosmetic tint” color may rub off on clothing or bed sheets. This is most likely to happen when you get dressed immediately after spray tanning. To minimize the chance of the tint transferring to clothing, we recommend that you wear loose-fitting, darker clothes after your spray tan session. The Cosmetic tint is water-soluble. Therefore, in most cases, the color will come out of clothing in the wash.

Can I do a spray tanning session in addition to a tanning bed?
Yes! Since Sunless tanning is UV-Free, you are welcome to tan either before or after completing a Sunless spray tan. Certain skin types benefit from doing a UV tan before their spray tan as this will open the pores an allow for better absorption of the spray tan solution thus creating a longer lasting tan.

How frequently do you recommend going in for spray tanning? Can I do it several days in a row?
The frequency of spray tanning application depends on your skin cell turn over and preference of color intensity. People with quick cell turn-overs may want to do a spray tan session every 3-5 days to keep color fresh.

How many days will spray tan last?
The longevity of a spray tan depends on the skin’s natural exfoliation process, and on the skin regimen followed before and after application. On average, a spray tan will last 4-7 days to as much as 10 days. The “life span” of a spray tan also depends on your skin’s natural exfoliation. The faster your skin regenerates, the faster the airbrush spray tan will fade. The tan created by the DHA and Erythrulose affects only the top layer of the skin and will begin to fade after 4 to 5 days as the skin naturally begins to exfoliate.

Can I work out after an airbrush spray tan?
It is best to wait about 6 hours after your spray tanning session before partaking in any strenuous activities that may cause perspiration. This will give the DHA time to fully react with skin proteins as well as prevent streaking that could result from excessive perspiration.

Do I need an appointment for the automated spray tan booth?
No appointment needed!. Walk-ins are welcome.

Fit Body Wrap

Incorporating infrared sessions with a healthy lifestyle can help you reach your weight loss or inch loss goals. When it comes to infrared heat therapy, a closer heat source means deeper heat penetration to the body and greater benefits. FIT Wrap designed their infrared sauna wrap with flexible carbon fiber heating elements. This means that all 19 of the FIT Bodywrap's infrared emitters contour to the body for 360 degrees of luxurious, encapsulating far infrared heat.

During a FIT Bodywrap session, your body's core temperature is raised above 100.6°F, which causes your body to enter a cool-down mode, inducing 3-5 times more sweat than exercise alone. And since sweating burns calories, you'll burn a lot of calories during your session.

Infrared can also re-balance your metabolism, speeding up the rate at which calories are burned throughout your session, and after. The greatest weight and inch-loss results are seen when FIT Bodywrap sessions become part of your lifestyle, along with a balanced diet and regular exercise routine. 3-4 sessions per week for at least 2-4 weeks are recommended to see weight loss results.

How many sessions do I need? How often should I do a session?
While everyone is different and individual results may vary, you can see benefits for detoxification and pain relief after as little as one session. Weight loss, improved skin, and lower stress levels will take multiple sessions, as often as every other day, to achieve.

How many calories can I burn in a session?
It can be challenging to give an exact number of calories burned, but sweating consumes calories, and an infrared body wrap session can induce 3-5 times more sweat than exercise alone will produce.
The number of calories burned in a session is dependent on a number of factors and can vary from session to session. These include:

• Your body type and metabolism.
• How conditioned you are to sweat.
• Your body’s current hydration status.
• How/what you’ve recently eaten.
• How warm the weather is.

Also, remember that a FIT Bodywrap session can elevate your metabolism for many hours after the session ends, so the increased caloric consumption can continue for many hours as well.

If I don't sweat much, am I still getting the benefits?
Yes! Even if you don’t sweat very much, your body is still working to cool itself, which is what burns calories and provides the many benefits.

Is the FIT bodywrap right for me?
Please view the contraindications list. If you have any of the conditions on this list, please check with your doctor before starting your first FIT Bodywrap session.
If you have questions, speak with your doctor before beginning a new program. Make sure to ask about any other medical conditions or medications that may affect you.

Is it just water weight loss?
The weight lost through consistent FIT Bodywrap sessions is not water weight, as each FIT session burns calories, boosts your metabolism, flushes fat from fat cells, and lowers your cortisol levels (which is the hormone that makes you carry weight in your mid-section).
Because we recommend thoroughly hydrating before, during, and after your FIT Bodywrap session, you won’t see a weight change from water weight loss.

Body Wrap

European Body Wrap

This European style Dry Mineral body wrap recipe has been used for 20+ years in salons and spas worldwide and dates back to Egyptian culture. Experience a firming, toning, and overall tightening effect from our special blend of minerals and sea salts. The wraps are soaked in our mineral detox formula and then wrapped around the entire body for inch loss and skin tightening results after 1 visit. Our European Body Wrap also reduces cellulite and helps diminish stretch marks. We recommend a series of sessions to obtain optimal results.

Luxe Mineral Body Wrap

Our Luxe Mineral Body Wrap is a mineral-hydrating body wrap; you won't sweat at all during the process. Its targeted-compression creates inch loss by stimulating the clinically-documented process of lymphatic drainage, where toxins and fatty acids from the cells are released into the capillaries and eliminated along with the body's waste through the body's lymphatic system. The lymph system is located directly beneath the skin and both delivers nutrients to the cells and carries away excess water, cellular waste, bacteria, viruses and toxins. The full-body compression produced in the Luxe Mineral Body Wrap is similar to MLD (manual lymphatic drainage) techniques used in advanced forms of massage therapy. Like MLD, the wrap helps drain puffy, swollen tissue and aids the body's natural waste removal and detoxification process. You will come out of the wrap feeling exuberant, while also losing some inches in the process!

Is there anything I should do before/after the visit?
Arrive to your appointment with clean exfoliated skin, no lotions, oils or perfumes. We recommend that you avoid alcohol consumption before and after your wrap, and that you do not come to your appointment immediately following a full meal.
After the wrap, we recommend you do not shower for several hours or until the next day if possible. There is no odor or residue from the wrap and you will be able to safely return to your daily activities. We also recommend drinking a lot of water and avoiding foods that are high in salt, sugar or other substances that are not healthy for the body.

What do I wear while I am wrapped?
Women are wrapped in a bra and underwear. Men are wrapped in swim trunks they bring with them. Bring a change of underwear because the garments you are wrapped in will be wet.

Who will body wraps help?
Anyone who wants to tone and tighten their skin. People with overly dry or rough skin. People with loose skin due to weight changes or from pregnancy. Men and women who want to look terrific fast! Anyone who wants to look and feel younger!

What is meant by total inch loss?
Before we wrap you, measurements are taken of various parts of the body (hips, calves, waist, midriff, abdomen, upper arms, etc.) and recorded on your own personal record chart with notes as to where you want to lose inches or contour. After the wrap you are re-measured and the difference of your measurements are added to determine “total inch loss.”

What will the wrap do for cellulite?
Cellulite is essentially water-logged fatty tissue. One of the first things women with this problem report is a visible improvement in the cellulite dimples and ripples within the first few wraps. Results, however, can be seen from the very first wrap.

Will I be in a state of fatigue or feel tired after my wrap?
Most clients tell us it leaves them feeling relaxed, energized, clean and very tight!

Are there any medical considerations?
If you are on medication or have a medical condition, you should obtain your doctor’s permission. The body wrap should not be done if you have any contagious condition, open wounds, or irritation of the skin caused by other medical conditions.

Is this wrap dehydrating?
No. In fact this wrap is considered to be hydrating. Our proprietary mineral solution is applied to the body using ace bandages. Once the bandages are applied, the distilled minerals solution is then absorbed through the skin creating a fluid exchange to leave you hydrated and energized.

We do not perform any microblading on pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Products And Equipment

How Long Does It Take To Heal?
It takes 14 days to fully heal. Aftercare instructions will be given. The first 3-4 days the eyebrows will appear bold, days 4-8 the eyebrows will appear faded, days 9-14 color will return and eyebrows will be healed. Touch up will be needed in 6 weeks to go over any lighter strokes and fill in any areas that might need it. Conservative is always best at the initial appointment but if you would like a bolder and thicker look we can always discuss it at the touch up appointment
